INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA City of Canterbury "- 20th edition

The competition allows competitors to carry all concerts for piano and orchestra, classical and romantic. From this the thought of the artistic director to make known, during a series of lectures, concerts and those of the classical period (from Bach and Beethoven) and romantic (from Chopin to Shostakovich) by listening to some of the most important interpretations comparing them with those of our vincitori.Per this Maestro Vincenzo Balzani, together with Maestro Antonio Tarallo and with the collaboration of the artistic staff of the School and Competition, held in Villa Calvi a series of lectures (lecture-concert), first explaining the reasons for this competition, now in its 20th edition, is known throughout the world for the possibility that we give annually at least 40 competitors experience the thrill of experiment with a real symphony orchestra. Side by side at these conferences we will
recitals by young Italian pianists, who have distinguished themselves during the various editions, so that the meetings will be every two weeks.

MANIFESTAZIONI COLLATERALI AL CONCORSO

Giovedì 6 maggio
presenteremo la 20° edizione in Villa Calvi con un aperitivo (orario da definirsi) ed un breve recital della dodicenne pianista Martina Consonni di Brenna ed allieva della Nuova Scuola di Musica nella classe di armonia.

Sabato 8 maggio pomeriggio:
Corso Matteotti 4 pianoforti verticali, parete dipinta a temi. 1 pf classica, 1 pf jazz, 1 pf musica leggera, 1 pf amatori



Mercoledì 12 maggio
in attesa delle semifinali:
recitals per due pianoforti a 4 e 8 mani nella sede della fasi eliminatorie a cura dei pianisti accompagnatori del Concorso (M° Antonio Tarallo, Catia Iglesias, Gabriel Mengher e Cristina Molteni)



Sabato 15 maggio mattino:
concerto con l’Orchestra Filarmonica di Stato “Mihail Jora” di Bacau diretto dai migliori partecipanti il corso di direzione d’orchestra giunto alla 14° edizione organizzato dalla Nuova Scuola di Musica e tenuto dal M° Pierangelo Gelmini.


Pomeriggio:
in Corso Matteotti su 4 pianoforti, verranno eseguiti i primi movimenti dei concerti per pianoforte e orchestra da alcuni concorrenti della 20° edizione con l’accompagnamento dei pianisti collaboratori del Concorso.

Ritetemp Operation Guide

Youth Orchestra in Canterbury - 10th edition

Dal 30 agosto al 5 settembre 2010 presso il Collegio “De Amicis” di Cantù, via Enrico Brambilla, 3, si svolgerà una settimana di attività d’orchestra per ragazzi, rivolta ad allievi delle scuole di musica, delle scuole medie a indirizzo musicale e dei corsi inferiori di conservatorio.
Il programma di lavoro giornaliero prevede attività a sezioni e attività con l'intera orchestra; l'équipe di direttori d’orchestra e strumentisti contacts collaborators of the different sections will be coordinated by Pierangelo Gelmini.

Organic :
flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, trumpets, horns, trombones, saxophones, tuba, percussion, violins, violas, cellos, double basses.

Calendar:
since Monday 30 August to Sunday, September 5, 13:30 to 18:30 hours (Wednesday only strings, woodwinds Thursday only). Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 September, also held two concerts, and other two thirds will be scheduled for the week following that course.

Fee: € 35
including participation in all activities and parts of the orchestra.

From mid-May will be available to members of the orchestra parts to prepare for internships and guidance for the week of testing.

STAGE ORIENTATION

For all members who wish to participate, this year will take place on a stage designed to guide policy and facilitate the study of the parties to prepare for the week of September and for concerts.

The workshop will be held on 28 and 29 June 2010 from 13.30 to 18.00 at the New School of Music in Canterbury, via Pontida, 5
